Woman define: “an adult female person” Femininity: the fact or quality of having characteristics that are traditionally thought to be typical of or suitable for a woman (Cambridge Dictionary) In other words the typical stereotype, to be a wife, cleaning, cooking, and having children. But God had a life changing plan for all of humanity through a faithfulness, courageous and strong will woman who answered yes to His calling on her life for His will and purpose through her.
It all began with Luke 1:26-38 The Annunciation To Mary. The angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her she has found favour with God. She’s going to conceive a child and call him Jesus. Now being a virgin, she ask how was it going to be possible seeing that she hadn’t been with a man. Even though Gabriel told her to fear not, nothing about her questions or attitude seems to have shown any sort of fear or intimidation. She spoke with Gabriel as though he was a normal person to conversate with. The most important statement Mary said to the angel Gabriel is, “Behold the handmaiden of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” Look at the difference, God said King David was a man after His own heart and He sent Gabriel to tell Mary she’s favoured. This is a problem because it makes David to be more like God and Mary is approved. Do you understand the meaning and interpretation according to man? It’s making the woman inferior and the man superior. What a lie!
God is almighty and powerful. In Genesis 2:7 KJV He formed man of the dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. Why would He send His angel Gabriel to ask the permission of a woman to impregnate her, I thought. He’s God, as he pulled woman out of man by his rib, according to scriptures, why then He couldn’t pull a man out of a woman? Why did He not pull a rib from her also instead of the woman have to go through nine months to bring forth this man. It would still have been a part of her. He’s God; he could have done anything to create half humanity and deity instead of using a woman. I believe He did it because woman from beginning with Eve according to the Bible had shown true leadership and intelligence, hence dealing with the serpent and his cunning. She had asked questions to be wise and not once give an excuse for her action, but spoke the truth when asked by God if they had eaten of the forbidden fruit. Unlike Adam who blamed Eve in Genesis 3:12 “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit from the tree and I ate.” God told them both not to eat of the forbidden tree, Genesis 2:17. Scripture declared that Eve saw that the fruit was good for food, (she had began to show the expected role of a wife, in looking for sustenance for both her and her husband, while he slept) pleasing to the eye and also desirable for gaining wisdom, Genesis 3:6. Seems like Eve was the boss and Adam just did as he was told by her, disregarding God’s rules. God had called to Adam, “where are you?” Not Eve. Making it clearly understandable that he was to be in charge and responsible for his wife, Eve. “The last shall be first and the first last,” is what comes to mind when I read this according to Jesus, Matthew 20:16.
I believe Women through the conception of Mary can now stand in equality to man, especially in the fight against the wickedness and evil, of the devil. Through the power and authority of God by the conception of Mary, all women are empowered to fulfill God purpose and will in equality to man. Even if we don’t have children we are all Mary’s in making the world a better place according to will and purpose of God. A game changer, we’re all responsible for God’s children and creation. “I am my brothers and sisters keeper, nurturing and taking care of all the creations of God. You don’t have to be a biological mother, you’re loving, nurturing and compassionate…to others, animals, creatures and the well being of planet earth.
This one for all women who’s the matriarch of the family holding it together in spite of the trials and tribulations of family life. The woman that rocks steady in the face of turbulence storms in life for being what God has created her to be the feminine(woman). A woman was never created to be the footstool of a man, but his companion at his side, making them equal in fulfilling God’s will and purpose. The resilient, vigilant, strong, courageous, intelligent…and most of all, virtuous woman of God; created in the image and likeness of her Father God, is to be acknowledged and excepted as equal.
Beaten down, left to feel worthless and insignificant is nothing but the lie of the devil. When the Bible referred to both genders it says man, “why?” Because it’s always been about strength when it comes to masculinity. This is the same reason I believe man wrote or interpreted the Bible for their own will to manipulate their authority as head and subject woman as to be beneath them, always referring to God as a man. What if God deliberately created man and woman as parts of His/Her spirit manifesting on the outside as two entity, but together really is one in His/Her likeness. If we can only understand we all possess strengths in different ways, man is by how much he can physically carry and woman is emotionally and physically, especially with conception and giving birth. This is our ignorance, not understanding in the eyes of God we are equal. Unity is the greatest strength. We are Gods perfect fit puzzle. Not one part of our anatomy, especially for the purpose of conception and birthing is an error, everything fits correctly. For this purpose the man has a penis and the woman a vagina. One is a giver and the other the taker, but together when making love joined in one spirit this when the manifestation of God’s creative power is within humanity is expressed and revealed when conception takes place.
In retrospect equality for both man and woman is proven because they both holds the responsibility for sin in the world; they are born and then die, and through Jesus has redemption and eternal life. Even if you’re not religious, then think on this for a moment, can a man have a child without a woman or a woman without a man? How would this world continue to replenish humanity, if this was not God’s creative plan from the beginning. Just like the seed needs the soil and both the soil and seed needs the sun and the rain for to grow—none is greater or less, if all is required for the process of growth.
A woman should never be treated like a child, property or slave to any man. If God gives us the ability of free will where He/She is concerned, why then would any man see it reasonable to take this right from their fellow man/woman. God never created us greater or less than, but equal.
Thank God for the many women who in the past who has shown strength in standing up for the liberties and rights of women. We are not to be subjected to the one thing that defines our role as a woman when we are more. Being a wife, a mother, cook, cleaner… is not all we are born or labeled to be as a woman, when in reality we have been proven to be more, even being a wife, mother and homemaker, we are brilliant in multitasking taking care of our families is like running a big business. A woman can even hold down the fort in the absence of our husband(man). When a father is not present, either busy working, left his wife, died, went off to war…or whatever, a woman especially with children shows herself not just strong but powerful, especially if she’s a woman of faith. Her task for the day is never ending, but she’d get it done even sometimes with the tears running down her face. This is strength to run a house, take care of children and a husband and as in this present time the woman also works; making it even more challenging. Yet a man who has such a wife should honour and respect her especially coming home form a hard day work and dinner is hot and ready on the table regardless. I give credit to all single dads who now understands what’s it’s like for all single and married mothers when taking care of children, the house and work. How times has changed and still ignorance remains for some men in the treatment of women.
Look how long Queen Elizabeth reign on the throne of England without any catastrophe happening to her kingdom. No man can ever succeed like that, seventy years. And I remembered watching a documentary on her life, she was at the age of twenty-one when she said, “my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service” and concluded with, “God help me to make good my vow.” She was not yet Queen only taken the throne at the age of twenty-five after her father’s death. Maybe there are other Queens in the world like Queen Elizabeth that is not known world wide, but her legacy in one that is written in the history books I believe for generations to come. Queen Elizabeth who was given the chance to reign, proven how the power of God can work through anyone, man or woman to fulfill His will and purpose.
Every woman still living in bondage of man, I want you to recognize that through Jesus, John 8:3-7 The stoning of the woman who was accused of committing adultery, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Luke 13:11-13 “Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.” The woman at the well, whom Jesus requested a drink from and told her he’ll give her water which will never make her thirsty again. John 4:5-30 Jesus may have walked with only man disciples according to what man has written in the interpretation of the scriptures, but these brief mentions of these impactful woman and the others I have not mentioned, are to empower the movement of women not just for the world, but for acknowledgment of the importance of women being part the integral movement of the Kingdom setting them free from the miseducation of the position women plays in our world as written and interpreted.
