Not to be ignorant, but has this celebration been getting the recognition needed in the sense of changing lives where racism is concerned? Many American Caucasian believe this to be giving black people privilege because of their color. Some don’t understand the United Negro College Fund is granted for better education for blacks and by no means racist, segregationist. I understand it is educational giving knowledge of the history of brown skin that they are human beings and not just to be enslaved and treated like an animal, especially in United States of America.

Neighboring countries like Canada to America and now recent countries like the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands are all acknowledging Black History month. Whenever blacks are attack by racism for some reason all other race is also affected. Racism isn’t just a black thing!

It’s sad, the thought of celebrating Black History Month, instead of acknowledging all the great accomplishments, every year it a constant reminder of racism, and civil rights movement. The unrest with police brutality, shootings and killing of blacks another form of lynching in the millennium. The blatant boldness of the treatment of blacks in millennium is like lessons will never be learnt about racism concerning black people. It seems like an never ending battle, blacks will never get a seat at the table of equality.
