The battle is not mine, but the Lord’s

How many times have you ever thought to yourself as a soldier in the Lord’s army, you have the rights in some way to play God? Think for a moment. I say to play God because you believed strongly, you could help others, it’s what expected of you and let’s not forget the judgements and condemnations. Where did this kind of theology came from? Maybe Sunday school, the Pastors of the churches you ‘ve attended or just your own understand? Proverb 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. We definitely must take this Proverb literally!

As for me, it took spiritual growth through some hard lessons to bring me to Jesus on my knees in pain and tears, for me learn it’s not my will, but the will of God working through me that would enables me to deal with the powers and principalities of the world. Realizing no strength or power have I of my own to stand up to it. The devil is a deciever for anyone to believe they could be in God stead. None of us is righteous, we’re all sinners. We can follow Jesus, but not be him.

I wanted so much to believe as I understood, my actions for God is acceptable in his sight and could make a difference in the world, that he’d say, “my faithful servant to whom I am well pleased.” I truly believe in my heart I was so righteous, but it was all self righteousness not God’s. His thoughts and ways are nothing like ours, according to Isaiah 55:8. This selfish kind of deceptive thinking can only come from one source, our enemy the devil; satan that liar, deceiver and tempter of our soul. Whatever we do in our own strength as a man because of our imperfections, weaknesses and limitations it can crumble and fall, taking us with it. Don’t get it twisted we’re not in control, God is the (General) leadership and controller of our lives, not we ourselves, especially being in his army.

Bible verses the battle is not yours: 1Samuel 17:45 King David said to the Philistine, ” you come against me with sword, spears, and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.” (47) All those gathered here know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves, for the battle is the Lord’s.” 2Chronicles 20:15 Be not afraid nor dismayed, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 2Corinthians 10:13 God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you ma be able to endure it. Deuteronomy 20:4 For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.

It is with great consolation knowing that when you surrender your life to God in obedience to His will, He’s got you, in the good times and especially in the bad. Don’t allowing the devil to manipulate and confuse your mind to think differently.
