“The devil made me do it!”

It would be so easy to be able to give the excuse, “the devil made me do it,” every time we sin, in doing wrong. I could imagine going to God on judgement day begging not to be thrown into hell, cause it’s not my fault, lol.

From the beginning of creation man was given the freedom of choice, according to biblical teachings. It is in our obedience that our freedom of choice work for the good of us all. You don’t have to be religious to understand what is good and what is bad. We can all agree religious or not, killing someone, stealing, cheating on your lover, is bad (wrong), and the lists goes on. We have man made laws we all must follow. But look how lucky we are to have a God and His laws so many of us has the choice to follow or not. We don’t even have to believe in Him, choice!

I was once told, “no God, then there’s no devil.” I replied, “God and the devil doesn’t come together hand and hand, like two lovers. God created him as well as us, and all things. There are too many things in our world and the entire universe that no amount of our intelligence we can’t create, explains, begin to understand or even know the reason for its existence. As for the devil I see him, he’s real, because I refuse to believe that humans can be so cruel and evil to one other. I blame the devil and his temptation and possessive powers of influences over us.

We are the ones who go together hand and hand concerning the devil, “no man, no devil to be fighting.” If we look at it from a biblical perspective when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. It was the man and the devil thrown out of the garden of Eden. In Genesis 3:15 God spoke about putting enmity between the devil seed and the woman’s. Never once was it mentioned that the devil and man was going to be best of friends. Enmity mean: (Merriam-webster definition) positive, active, and typically mutual hatred or ill will. Some how after time the devil was still able to continue to lead us away from God.

We personify God as man and the devil as a beast, but we are ever so wrong. God is a spirit and the devil is also, but an evil spirit, a fallen angel. If we look at it like this, positive and negative energy, God is both after all He’s God if you know what I mean, and the devil negative. The devil is a tempter, with powers to influence.

John 3: 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus came to earth for our salvation. Through His life, death, resurrection and the gift of the Holy Spirit (the other comforter, spirit of truth) John 14:16. Now through faith in Him, we can all overcome every temptations and powers of influence by the devil, if we just believe. Once again, “our choice, and the devil has nothing to do with it.”
