When Jesus starts to cry we know that something Good is going to happen. Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead, John 11:1-44. Jesus wept and he brought Lazarus back to life.
Jesus is probably looking down on the earth and He’s beginning to cry once again saying, “Father, am I going to them?” Remembering when he had gotten to Lazarus, both his sisters, Mary and Martha cried to him, and Mary fell at his feet weeping and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died,” John 11:32.
Luke 19:41-44 Jesus wept over Jerusalem because he foresaw that they would suffer at the hand of their enemies for not recognizing the time of God’s coming to them. His death and resurrection became their salvation.
“Lord we are waiting patiently on you to come once again.” We do understand your reason for getting to Lazarus at the time you did, after his death. According to John 11:4 ‘It is for God’s glory so that God’s son may be glorified through it.’ So shall it be unto us today, knowing that through you, even if we are dead, like Lazarus, by the time you return we’d all live again.
