Your blessings can be stolen?

Genesis 27:35 “Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

The story about Jacob and his brother Esau has been preached for decades, but there’s one thing that no one has ever addressed and that is, “why wasn’t Esau able to take back his birthright after selling it to his brother for a bowl of stew? This had to have been all a joke between siblings. “Seriously?” There’s was no such deal that could have been existing that you can sell or give your birthright away, the law was the law no exceptions. How could Esau give away what he hadn’t recieved yet? So the blessing wasn’t his to do whatever he wanted. Both him and Jacob should of known better.

My second concerned that no one ever addressed, “why knowing Esau is the eldest, couldn’t Isaac take back the blessing or even bless him also realizing he blessed the wrong son?” Both Esau and Isaac couldn’t change what was done because it wasn’t their choice it was God’s will. They just played it out unintentionally, which goes to show according to Proverbs 16:9 ” We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our step.”

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. This blessing being give to Jacob instead of Esau wasn’t a mistake, but destiny. It was prophesied by God while in the womb of Rebekah their mother when she went to inquire of the Lord, why the babies jostled each other within her, Genesis 25:21-26

Rebekah like her mother-in-law Sarah even though she was given the prophecy because she loved Jacob she didn’t wait until God fulfill it, she went ahead to make it happen by making Jacob pretend he was Esau. Her action caused her sons to war with each other. Sarah give her sevant to her husband Abraham to also fulfill the Lord’s prophecie which also cause her heart aches. As for Jacob his actions didn’t go unpunished he suffered the same deceptions he did to both his father and brother by the hand of his uncle Laban, Genesis 29:16-28

Lesson learned that your destiny is high depended on the will of God to be fulfill. Wait on the Lord, wait patiently. No one can take your blessing especially when it’s God’s plan for your life.
